How to date in the digital world

Every woman has her style and grace to dating. Sometimes it works in the digital world, and sometimes not so good. This post is for the ladies that want to know how to date in the digital world with etiquette in mind:

Don’t bring the peanut gallery to your first date

Your date wants to meet with you, not you and your friends; on a first date.

Keep your profile picture as natural as possible

Soft lighting and makeup can be used to accentuate your beauty, but retouching too much with Face Tune is false advertisement. A common complaint I hear from my guy friend is that he can’t find his online date in a restaurant. You don’t want to be that girl.

Don’t delay meeting in person after you have matched online

Chatting online should be for the primary purpose of setting up an in-person date. If a guy has not made plans to see you after a week of online interaction, it is time to move on. Some unscrupulous married men get their thrills from flirting on dating sites, ewww!

Another real danger that you could find yourself fascinated with the imagined version of your suitor. The only way to find out true compatibility is to be in the same room together, eyeball to eyeball.

Please don’t offer to split the bill on the first date

Yes, I am old-fashioned, and some of you may not agree with me, but a gentleman should always pay for a lady on a first date. Even if you are a CEO of a Fortune 500 company, if your suitor requests you contribute to the bill, kindly decline and never see him again. If he cannot treat you to a nice dinner, he is either miserly or broke. Neither of these things is attractive.

Don’t play games

Games are for children. Adulthood is all about emotional truth. Playing hard to get is akin to shooting oneself in the foot, especially if you are really into someone. Most gentlemen need to be told things plainly and precisely to understand what’s going on — dating, while a lot of fun, or challenging to some is a serious business if you want a loving life partner.

Never give up!

It took me two marriages and half a lifetime to find the love of my life. Usually, you meet a few not so nice men along the way. But don’t let that discourage you. There are good, brave and true gentlemen out there — ones who will slay dragons for you as well as adore the raw, open, honest, authentic you.

We are all inherently lovable and deserve the brightest, happiest, most passionate kind of love. Don’t give up!

Sending love vibes! 💋

I agree with all of these. I used to online date and guys would always say “Oh wow, you actually look like your photos” I never understood what they mean by that. Some of my friends face tune their photos so much, you can’t recognize them haha. Great post. xx
