Happy Tuesday!
For those of you that have been following my blog, you know that I am obsessed with avocados!
Today, I came across this blog post by Esther of Finding Beauty in the Middle East, which I had to share as summer comes to an end this week.
Here are some avocado benefits for the skin;
Anti-aging
Whether you are eating them or mashing them and applying on your face, some of the avocado benefits include helping you fight or slow down the aging process. Avocados turn back the clock on your skin by smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines. This is because they contain antioxidants which fight free radicals that damage the skin. The oil in avocado helps in the synthesis of elastin fibers and collagen hence maintaining the structure and elasticity of the skin.
Treats Skin Conditions
Avocados can treat many skin conditions and this is why it is used as an ingredient in so many creams and balms. Avocado oils are closely matched to your skin’s natural oils which protect your skin from the day’s damage. Apart from moisturizing the skin, it helps in keeping your skin hydrated for long periods of time. However, if you have an oily skin do not apply the oil on your face as it may cause breakouts.
Natural Sunscreen
Another one of the avocado benefits is its ability to act as a natural sunscreen and help in the soothing sunburnt skin. It aids in protecting the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Its high antioxidants properties help in protecting the skin from environmental damage and restoring the damage to the skin caused by spending too much time in the sun.
