Surf, Tan, and Snow in Hawaii

Given yesterday’s tragic and horrible event in New York literally three blocks away from my apartment, I am happy to report that we are safe and sound.

Kindly, say a prayer for those families that lost a loved one.

On with the post:

Yupe as the title says, you can surf, tan and snow in Hawaii all in one day in Kona if you have the energy.

You can begin working on your tan at the Four Seasons Hotel This opulent, romantic resort is so serene.  The pools have amazing views of the ocean, and the staff is accommodating. They walk around the pools with complimentary fruits, drinks, and even a masseuse.

To get your surf on head over to Hapuna Beach. This gorgeous white sand beach in the middle of lava land is breathtaking.  While most beaches are rocky, this is one of the few pristine white sand beaches in the area. The water is warm, crystal clear and turquoise blue.  Lifeguards are present.  They also have a snack bar.

After you rinse off the sand, change into your winter gear and drive over to Mauna Kea summit.  The 13,796-foot summit is not a place for pregnant women, anyone under 16 and older people, erase it from your agenda.  Once you drive up to the summit, there is 40 percent less oxygen.
