Upon creating this list I was wondering whether I was blogging about Los Angeles, or New York. It appears that NY restauranteurs and hoteliers have descended upon LA to change the foodie and hospitality scene. Being born in Los Angeles it’s such a relief to go back and visit now as there were very limited “good food” options in the city of Angels.
Have a look at this heat map of all the new hot spots:

The Waldorf Astoria is the epitome of luxury. It just opened this summer and it has blown away all other hotels in the area. The spacious rooms along with the spectacular view of the Hollywood Hills is simply peaceful. There is also a rooftop pool to get your Vitamin D on.

Catch originally from New York, swam into LA this spring. It has taken the city by storm. The delicious menu is creative. There is no bad food item listed, it’s life changing. The decor is gorgeous with a hip vibe. The restaurant offers such a memorable experience. Keep your eyes open as there are many celeb sightings. Be sure to taste the sticky rice, ceviche, lobster roll, soy paper crab roll along with the signature Klondike desert (to die for) you will not be disappointed!

America’s busiest and top grossing restaurant finally arrived in LA. It’s top-notch Chinese cuisine is sumptuous and ‘oh so filling.’ I leave in a food coma when I visit their Meatpacking location in NY. Try the lobster garlic noodles and tuna tartare.

When Beauty and Essex opened in NY it was the place “to be” and “be seen” even though it was in the Lower East side when not many New Yorker’s were adventurous enough to hike downtown. Now the Los Angeles sister spot is doing the same as it is located on Cahuenga Blvd. in a not so desirable location. The entrance is through a pawn shop is fun. The bathroom is its own venue. There’s a space for selfies along with pink and red starbursts for your enjoyment. You gotta try: head cut steak tartare, grilled cheese, smoked bacon & tomato soup dumplings and Mahi tacos.
Happy sunny Saturday!
