Happy Humpday!
The middle of the week always feels like we are coming up for air to kick off the weekend.
Whenever I am applying any of my skincare toners, lotions, eye cream, etc., I am left thinking if I am using the right amount, so I did a little researching for you all and found out I have a heavy hand on most of these products.
Here’s how much product you should be using:
Body Wash
One tablespoon on a washcloth, loofah, or a pouf
Facial Exfoliants
1/2 teaspoon
Face Lotions and creams
1/3 teaspoon (use 1/2 a teaspoon in the winter), or think a quarter-sized amount to ensure you’re adequately protected against harmful UV rays. For non-SPF ones, you can use a nickel-sized dollop.
Night Cream
A quarter-sized amount should do. Keep in mind that applying too much can leave you with clogged pores and breakouts, like with any heavy cream.
Face Cleansers
2/3 a teaspoon, or a dime-sized blob is your best bet
Face Toner
Stick to just a few drops, and always apply it with a cotton round, You want the round to be wet but not completely saturated, which would mean less product is absorbed.
Eye Cream
A pea size amount applied with your weakest finger. Tap a small amount above and around the eyelids as well as under the eyes. Smooth gently with an inward sweeping motion to avoid stretching the skin.
Serum
A pea-sized amount should be enough. Apply it in the palm of your hand and press the product into your skin. Don’t forget your neck
Masks
Use a quarter size for regular combination skin masks. For anti-acne clay masks use less than a quarter because of the ingredients can dry your skin then cause it to peel.
Sunscreen
This is the one product you want to be generous with on your skin. A quarter-sized amount will likely do the trick for the face. As to the entire body, you’ll need a shot glass-worth of SPF.
Acne spot treatment
All you need is a pea-sized amount or even less to adequately absorb excess oil and pull out impurities. If your treatment goes on clear like a gel, it can be used at any time of the day.
Beautiful skin requires commitment not a miracle
