How to boost your energy when you are tired AF

I love spring and summer, but for some reason, all the excitement of being outdoors along with birthdays, picnic parties, anniversary’s, and spring cleaning can take a good woman down.

Here are some tips on how to boost your energy when you are feeling tired AF:

Get your zzz’s

Nothing is worst than operating on a low energy level because you danced the night away, or decided to read on your iPhone till the wee hours. Studies show that drowsiness can slow reaction time as much as driving drunk, yikes! Furthermore, you are not doing your body any favors by hitting the snooze button either. 🙈

Keep calm and stretch on

As you awaken, take a moment to stretch. Just a few minutes to move through some poses in the morning can give you a boost of energy first thing (without the mid-morning coffee crash). “Stretching creates mobility in the joints and causes the muscles to expand and contract more than they’re used to, which forces more blood to flow through the body,” says Patrick Mason, a yoga instructor at TruFusion. “More movement happening in the body relates to more liveliness in the mind!”

Hydrate with water

During sleep, your body is being depleted of water. Fatigue is one of the first signs of dehydration, so having a 16 oz glass of water upon waking up will make you feel more energized.

Breakfast is your bestie

As you sleep, your body is hard at work digesting yesterday’s food. By the time you wake up, your body and brain are demanding fresh fuel. Breaking the fast is a crucial way to power up in the morning. Do it right, and the benefits can last all day.

Listen to your favorite tunes

Music triggers the release of endorphins (the happy hormone) which have an overall positive effect on the body. Bonus, if your go-to tune gets moving, or dancing it will boost your blood flow, which raises heart rate and gets oxygen and nutrients flowing through your body.

Sending warm spring week vibes! 💋
