Happy Thursday!
This weekend I am in Miami for Art Basel!
Art Basel is an international art fair with three shows staged annually in Basel, Switzerland; Miami Beach, Florida; and Hong Kong. Each show is organized into sectors which showcase contemporary artworks by established and newly emerging artists.
What happens at Art Basel?
Art Basel in Miami Beach is an annual art show held at Miami Beach, Convention Center. It’s first show was in 2002. More than 250 galleries and 4,000 artists from across the globe feature their art in front of the art world’s top curators, museums and collectors. The weekend of Art Basel has become a major draw for Miami, with parties, satellite fairs and major events being held across the city in conjunction with the show.
The well-heeled say they travel to Miami for Art, but they just come for the events and parties.
Look out for tomorrow’s post as I will interview world renowned artist, Ekatherina Savtchenko.

Yes! Thank you reading and commenting. 😘💋
While you’re there, make sure you check out, “The Sinking of the Taj Mahal,” over on Faena Beach. It’s a pretty rad art installation by Peter Tunney. https://foodwatershoes.com/2017/12/08/art-basels-other-gilty-pleasures-sinking-of-taj-mahal-faena-hotel-miami-florida/
Thank you! I missed it! 😢 Just arrived back to NY today. I love Peter Tunney! Met him in Nantucket and he was an interesting character. xx
There’s always something you have to miss. Makes another trip totally worthwhile!
Ha ha, so true! 🤗
