Detoxing bath after a boozy weekend

It’s a holiday weekend, and you know what that means barbecues, food coma’s and boozing it up.

Try a Baking Soda and an Epsom Salt bath for instant relief.

Baking soda detoxifies and alkalizes your body. It is natural, safe and inexpensive. Baking soda baths can neutralize your body and skin. It assists in detoxing your body from alcohol, pollutants, toxins, caffeine, nicotine, and medications.

You can also use Baking soda to relieve pain from hemorrhoids, yeast infection, and other discomforts in the genital or buttock area. Baking soda soothes irritated skin from nasty mosquito bites. It relieves itching and reduces the burning sensation.

Baking soda is a good substitute for commercial products used for bathing. It does not contain fragrances and chemicals, it is colorless and odorless, and it does not leave residues in the bath tub. It makes bath water alkaline and leaves the skin feeling silky.

Another bonus tip: you can use it to clean your bathtub instead of harmful chemical cleaners.

As for Epsom salt, it is absorbed through the skin and replenishes the level of magnesium in the body. The magnesium helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a sense of calm and relaxation. Magnesium ions also help you relax and reduce irritability by lowering the effects of adrenaline. They create a relaxed feeling, improve sleep, concentration and help muscles and nerves to function properly.

The sulfates in Epsom salt help flush toxins and heavy metals from the cells, easing muscle pain and helping the body to eliminate harmful substances. Your skin is a highly porous membrane and adding the right minerals to your bath water triggers a process called reverse osmosis, which pulls salt out of your body, and harmful toxins along with it. Furthermore, if you have a bruise, it also helps get rid of it quicker.

Here’s the recipe:

Fill the tub with the desired heat temperature, mix 1 cup of Baking soda with 1 cup of Epsom salt. Soak for 20 minutes.

Voila, you are back to join us as a healthier you.

Have a fun weekend!
