Ever notice when you get home after a day, or night out of drinking that you are so hungry, thirsty and begin to rape the fridge? There’s no judgement, nor do you care at that point. It’s about surviving the night. The next day the cravings continue. You start off with an omelette, or a bagel to coat your fiery stomach.
This all can be avoided by drinking smarter and hydrating. You can pregame your water intake by having a glass of water, sparkling water, or coconut water. For every alcohol drink you consume drink the same amount of water. I know it sounds easy, but it can be hard when you are knee-deep drinking and socializing.
Another trick is to snack on water filled snacks like celery, tomatoes, green peppers, cauliflower, watermelon, star fruit, cauliflower, strawberries, broccoli, grapefruit, baby carrots, cucumber and cantaloupe.
Once the water in your body is reduced, it needs to be replaced because an imbalance between the salts and sugar in your body can affect the way you will perform.
Sports drinks are not your friend They claim to have electrolytes, but its a joke because they are filled with sugar.
So next time you are out just remember to drink and hydrate responsibly. Your body will thank you in the am.
