Families, travel, gifts, and countless events can take any good person down.
Just in the last week, my social schedule has been non-stop, and I have not gotten an inch closer to buying gifts.
Perhaps, I like to wait till the last week to get awesome deals and take in the sights and sounds of the bustling city.
However, I do try to take two days off to decompress to keep myself sane.
Try these self-care destressing tips next time you are feeling overwhelmed by the holiday spirit:
Do some Restorative Yoga
When you get home in the evening, do a restorative yoga pose for 15 minutes to rejuvenate, or do a restorative yoga pose if you feel the need during the day to help recharge your energy. YouTube has countless videos that are easy to do at home.
Use those Tennis Balls
Tennis ball massage is my favorite thing to do after I have been in heels all night, or after running around all day. It is the ultimate foot massage and feel good relief in your feet. You can do the neck and shoulder release with tennis balls against the wall, or on the floor to let go of some tension there as well.
Get moving
Move, walk, take your dog for a walk, or recruit a friend, or a family member to join you. If the weather prevents walking outdoors combine a Christmas shopping trip with your exercise. Indoor malls are great places to walk. Get there early before the crowds get too heavy. If you are driving to a store, park at the opposite end of the parking lot to walk to the store.
Baths
A relaxing bath with one cup of Epsom salt and one cup of Baking Soda will also relieve any tension from sore hamstrings, calves, and back as well as detoxify your body. Just soak in the tub for 20 minutes to melt the day away. Don’t forget to light up some candles to create an ultra-relaxing mood.
Sending zen holiday vibes! 💋
