According to an AI scientist, Professor Toby Walsh, has made some scary predictions about the future in his new book “It’s Alive!: Artificial Intelligence from the Logic Piano to Killer Robots.”
“Autonomous cars will fundamentally change road safety,” he said.
“Around the world, over a million people die in road accidents every year. In the United States, about 33,000 people will die in road accidents in the next year.”
“If a fully loaded Boeing 747 crashed every week, we would be clamoring for airline safety to be improved. But since car accidents happen in hundreds and thousands of different places, we don’t seem to notice.”
About 95 percent of accidents can be blamed on the driver, with people speeding, drunk driving and texting while behind the wheel.
“We take risks that we shouldn’t,” Walsh said.
“If we can take the human out of the loop, we can make our roads much safer.”
Just think of how much time you will have to catch up on your reading.
Happy fun day Sunday!

I this point in time, I do not doubt that artificial intelligence could replace us. Some people see the aforementioned as some sort of science fiction thing. Personally, I do not discard the possibility that artificial intelligence could replace us in driving and in a wide variety of human activities ☹️
