Want to conquer your day? Try my morning routine

I was never a morning person until recently when my blogging duties became more than I imagined.

After many late night’s and unproductive afternoons, I decided that I needed to create a simple morning routine to conquer the day.

First step

Meditate for at least 10-20 minutes. Start off with practicing just 5 minutes – this will increase your brain’s ability to focus, aiding your productivity for the day. I usually go on YouTube and search for mindfulness meditation. Also, the Calm app is excellent, but they charge a monthly membership fee. If you are not comfy with meditation, try journaling. This will also set your mind up for the intention of the day. When you begin your day with intention you rule the day, so the day does not rule you.

Step two

Hydrate, drink at least 8 oz of water with lemon to get your body going. As we sleep, our bodies are working hard to replenish our cells. By drinking just an 8 oz glass of water you are assisting the body to restore, balance, and hydrate your digestive system. Also, hot water with lemon is a great way to speed up your metabolism. I have and will not give up my coffee, so I drink 16 oz of water with lemon followed by a cup of coffee.

Step three

STAY off SoCIAl MeDIA for at least the first hour after waking! Depending on what you see, can have a considerable impact on your mood for the day.

Make your bed

According to experts making your bed will: increase your productivity, help you complete more tasks throughout your day and kick-start a chain reaction of organization and focus!

Step four

Get moving

Whether you play your favorite tunes, and start dancing, walk, or a simple stretching exercise routine, it will allow your heart to get pumping with mood elevating endorphins.

Step five

Give Thanks

Counting your blessings, appreciating the simple pleasures and the things you already have in your life is not only humbling but is a powerful exercise.

Practicing gratitude is an excellent way to create an instant shift in your mindset towards the positive. It’s impossible to be thankful and negative all in a single moment.

Shifting focus from the negative to the positive helps us see situations more clearly so that we open our minds to new solutions rather than filling it with worry.

Here are some examples:

I’m so grateful that I’m waking up today feeling healthy and happy

I’m so thankful and grateful for the roof over my head, the warm bed I sleep and the beautiful things I have around me.

I am so grateful that I have the support and love of family/friends.

“You should aim to record three things that you are grateful for each day.”

I take my time writing my gratitude list, and really absorb all the powerful, positive energy that is emitted during this easy and simple habit.

Step six

Connect with your vision

Are you connecting with your goals each morning? Either by reading, looking at your vision board, or perhaps writing down your quarterly and/or yearly goals that you are currently working towards. Once you have done this, write down your targets for the day – the things that need to be done and completed before moving on with the rest of your day.

Make sure these targets are activities that will move your business forwards rather than meaningless to-do tasks.

Your goals should be everywhere you look!  On your phone, in your office, on your computer screen, in a book beside your bed. The more you remind yourself of them, the more motivated you will be and the clearer the activities you need to complete to realize your goals become.

Just know you all are here to have a fulfilling and joyful life, and not a mediocre one.

Sending positive zen vibes! 💋

I feel you. It was hard at first to give up this habit. Then I thought it serves no purpose other than wasting valuable am time. Now I check social media when I have to wait for the subway, or grocery store line. xx 💋

I currently have pics of places I want to visit, girly stuff like pretty delicate jewelry. You could put anything you want in life from the smallest things to the biggest ideas. xx 😘
