An adventure without the rides at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

During my visit to San Francisco, I decided to tour the Walt Disney Family Museum.

Ever since I was a child, I was fascinated by all things Disney, so this was truly a treat.

The museum is 19,000 square feet of galleries devoted to telling the story of Disney’s life and work.

Walt Disney arrived in Hollywood from Kansas with only $40.00 in his pocket.

The lobby is really a large gallery given over to displays of Disney’s many awards, certificates, and statuettes.

Disney’s first company went bankrupt. His second, created with his brother Roy, was nearly destroyed by a jealous rival who lured away staff members and took over one of Walt’s early cartoon characters, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Out of that loss grew the idea of Mickey Mouse, an insouciant funny creature.

By the time he created his first feature-length work, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” he had transformed animation.

This is a model of Disneyland!

It looks better in person as the photo does not catch all the details of this splendid amusement park model.

The museum does not display Walt Disney’s famous quotes, which are some of my favorites.

Give yourself a couple of hours to do the full tour as there is so much to see and experience. The museum will leave you full of joy and inspiration.

Sending joyous vibes! 💋
