Tech day Sunday – 2018 fun tech gadgets presented at CES

This week was the Olympics of Technology as over 180,000 people descended into Las Vegas for the Computer Electronics Show, CES.

There were hundreds of more new gadgets, but there are too over the top to even mention for purposes of this post. I narrowed it down only to a select few for your viewing pleasure.

Here are some of the uber new and fun tech gadgets to look out for this year!

Black Box VR Workout

Black Box VR is building the gym of the future. Using the HTC Vive, motion-tracking controllers and specially designed workout equipment, Black Box turns exercise into a video game. The plan is to set up a boutique gym in San Francisco this year, where members can strap into a game, work out and attempt to land on the local leaderboards. This is just the beginning of the VR fitness market.

L’Oreal UV Skin Sensor

It’s a UV sensor no bigger than a thumbnail that tells you, via your smartphone, how much sun exposure you’ve received each day. The benefits are twofold: Not only could this help prevent skin cancer.  The UV Sense will be available in the summer for an undisclosed price.  The rumor is that it will be under $50.00.

Aibo Robot Dog by Sony

Sony robotic robot dog aiboIf you want some companionship without the hassle look no further than this cute AI dog.  It has facial recognition so it can detect different members of your family and can tell people apart from an object like a bone. If someone in your house pets Aibo the most, it will interact with them the most.  The main camera is located in the nose and it has touch sensors on the top of its head, chin and back. Sony also says its movements are more dog-like and realistic — for example, its head shakes.  Sony claims the new Aibo “can form an emotional bond with members of the household while providing them with love, affection, and the joy of nurturing and raising a companion.”  It will set you back $1,783.32 and it is only available in Japan for now.

I saw a post on FB regarding Psychsec, and I thought it was real until I looked it up and found out it was an elaborate marketing gimmick for one of Netflix’s new show LOL
but in the process, i found out about CES and I think it’s pretty cool, all the new technology gets featured there and more often than not, not everything will get a commercial,
