Is he into you, or not? What a mans body language says during a date

During my dating years, I could never tell if a guy liked me, or not.

I was so inept that the only way I knew my date liked me was if he called me for a second date. Yes, ladies guys used to call you instead of a texted that began with a “hey.”

The male body language is different from women. When you are already sweating it out on a date; it can be troublesome to decode what a man is really feeling. After years of good and bad dates, I figured out some key clues.

Check out this list:

Running his fingers through his hair

If he heavy breathes while running his fingers through his hair with a medium stroke, it means he is attracted to you, and he is trying to compose himself. It can also mean he is nervous. However, head-scratching, tugging or a frown, while he’s doing these hair-touching movements, are two signs that he may be frustrated, confused or bored.

Licking his lips

When a man licks his lips he sending a sensual signal that he is into you. Can also mean he needs another drink because he is thirsty, dehydrated or nervous.

Chest out while he leans forward

He is signaling that he is into you and only you. No one in the crowd matters. It’s an A, and B convo and C can just see themselves out.

Looking into your eyes

Did you know that there is a five-second rule when a man looks at you? According to experts when a man looks at you for more than 5 seconds he is into you, and he is trying to connect with you and show you that he is indeed intent on listening to what you have to say. He’s also focused on trying to get to know more of your body language, too.

Wax toy soldier face aka dead behind the eyes

So you are in the middle of telling a juicy story, and he looks dead behind the eyes like a faceless wax toy soldier. This man is not for you, and he lacks any emotion. If he does not nod, raise an eyebrow, comments, laughs, or show some acknowledgment, then it’s time to get the check.

Fake smile

A real smile will pull on the muscles of his face, causing his cheekbones to rise, and the skin around his eyes will tighten and wrinkle up a bit. A fake smile will not move much. Keep it moving ladies.

Touching his nose

Unless we are transported back in time to Studio 54 sitting at a table with Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones, he should not be touching his nose. A slight brush-off shouldn’t be too concerning, but if he’s continually poking, rubbing, and prodding his schnoz, it could be a sign he’s just not happy being in your presence, or his is experiencing negative emotions.

He walks in front of you

Unless he is your bodyguard as depicted in this picture (Jennifer Lawrence with her bodyguard) or trying to get you out of harm’s way, this act is a deal breaker. A guy who walks ahead of you is sending off negative respect for women vibes. Men typically walk faster than women, but research has proven that when a man is interested in someone, he will slow down his pace so that he can walk next to her. They subconsciously do this to be more in sync with their partner.

Men aren’t that hard to get when it comes to the signals they are sending out. You just have to be conscious and aware.
