Winter beauty survival guide

Winter is my least favorite season of the year; besides being frosty, it’s work to keep your skin dewy with a touch of color.

Then there’s the darkness at 4pm 🙈.  My brain thinks it’s 10pm when it’s not, so unless I have plans, I end up staying in to read or watch a romantic comedy.

I put together a beauty survival guide list for you to stay as beautiful as ever for Spring!

Crane Ultrasonic Cool Mist Drop Shape Humidifier $49.99

A humidifier in your bedroom is your bff.  When the weather is colder and drier, skin can’t hold onto as much moisture as it can with warm air, so this cool misty air will lock in the moisture on your skin while you sleep.

Avoid taking hot baths!  Sorry, Lush bomb addicts.  Taking those hot baths will shrivel your skin like a prune.  If you must take a bath try bathing in warm bath with Goat Milk like Cleopatra.

Add 2-4 cups of fresh goat milk or goat buttermilk to your bath water. Soak for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with slightly warm water.

Drink hot water with lemon first thing in the am.  It helps flush the body of impurities and improves digestion.  Lemon water can lead to clearer skin. It also contains Vitamin C to boost your immune as well as collagen production for smooth, healthy skin.

Avoid using harsh peels, masks, and alcohol-based toners or astringents, all of which can strip vital oil from your skin. Instead, find a cleansing milk or mild foaming cleanser, a toner with no alcohol, and masks that are “deeply hydrating,” rather than clay-based, which tends to draw moisture out of the face.

Kiehls Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Mask $35.00

I have posted about this mask before, but it’s such a great product that I need to repost.  This mask puts the “H” in hydrating. The results are unparalleled to any overnight mask I have used in the past. The proteins and other natural ingredients work on sensitive skin, giving you a radiant face by morning. It works together with a daily moisturizer to amplify the benefits already happening. Plus, it’ll never leave you feeling greasy.

Aquaphor Lip Balm $3.70

This lip balm will quench your thirsty lips with instant hydration.  It will also shed some dry skin, so wipe before applying your lipstick.

l’Occine hand cream $12.00

The nourishing hand cream will leave your hands feeling like velvet.  There are many mixtures of this product, but my favorite is the Shea butter.

Claus Porto Body Soap $9.00-$25.00

This is a top-notch soap for sensitive and dry skin.  Your body will feel like satin after a couple of showers.  The scents and soap are long-lasting.  Each bar can last up to 6 months.  It’s pricey but worth it.  Oprah chose Claus Porto soaps as one of her “favorite things.” These luxurious all natural soaps have been made in the same traditional way for almost 120 years!

Sending beauty vibes! 💋

Love your tips! I was glad to find out that I already do almost all of the things you recommended here! I am a huge fan of warm lemon water in the morning, and agree with you on winter being my least favorite time of the year… brrrr. I have both the Aquaphor lipbalm and the L’Occitane hand cream in my handbag (I also have the Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream on my desk at work!). I just bought a new myst humidifier at Sage and you can add a few drops of essencial oils do the water which makes the entire room smell fantastic! Happy Holidays and thanks for sharing!
