Get luscious fall and winter skin RN

During the fall and winter, our skin feels like a raisin as the heaters and dry air affect the hydration our skin stores.  It’s worst if you are not drinking enough water daily.  I know it’s hard when all you want to do is drink a Hot Toddy, but we need the water to lock in moisture.

Moisturizers contain humectants that attract water, and emollients, which seal in the moisture, but various options can be applied for luscious, smooth skin.

Option 1:  Lotion is applied immediately after you shower, but make sure your skin is not completely dry, a light towel pat all over is good, so your skin can set up a film.  This way you can seal the moisture.

Option 2:  Trap additional water into the skin by applying an “In-shower moisturizer” it is a specially formulated mixture that’s activated by water and deposit a layer of oils and emollients on the skin that are absorbed before they are rinsed off.  These types of lotions are suitable for people suffering from eczema and dry, cracked skin.

Nivea In-Shower Nourishing Body Lotion, $5.99; target.com.

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Monoi Oil, $6.39; drugstore.com.

Eucerin In-Shower Moisturizer Body Lotion, $9.11; amazon.com.

Option 3:  Apply onto wet skin Coconut Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Apricot Oil, Avocado Oil, or any oil that works best for your skin type then towel dry.  I mix Grape Seed Oil with my favorite Bliss lotion.

By following a good skin regimen in the fall and winter will ensure your skin is fab not drab by spring.

I regret taking such good care of my skin, said no one ever!

Happy Tuesday! 💋

You are so right! Moisturing skin is necessary in autumn/winter! I normally use lotion after taking a shower like you mentioned in #1. Somtimes I also use oil. But only when I don’t want to outside after this or wear heavy clothing 😉

    Have a wonderful day :-*

I still haven’t tried in-shower moisturizers but they sound interesting. My skin does suffer through these seasons a lot and moisturizing (as well as drinking lots of water) improves skin conditions (for me at least, lol)
