Heat up the weekend in Miami

Now that we are in full swing of fall, most New Yorker’s descend upon Miami for not only the heat but its vibrant multicultural experience.  It used to be known as “God’s Waiting Room” because of all the retirees, but now it has gone through a complete renaissance.

Here are some top spots to check out next time you want to turn up the heat for weekend travel:

One Hotel

As you walk into the hotel, you will be enveloped with the most enlightening smell, ever. It’s chic, minimalistic design and decor will automatically relax you.

Prime 112

Don’t expect to get seated on-time of your reservation. This place is a madhouse on the weekends. It’s great for celebrity and athlete sightings, while you wait for your table. Portion control is key here as the dishes are huge. Try the Poke Tuna, it’s delish!

Icebox Cafe

Resurrect yourself from a hard night of partying at this trendy and hip brunch place. The healthy options are endless. The omelets are very filling. Bring a sweater because it’s an ice box.

To add a healthy dose of culture go to Macaya Gallery for swoon-worthy contemporary art.  Be sure to check out artist and photographer Daniel Stanford as he rules the art scene.

The Fontainbleau is the most historically and architecturally significant hotels in Miami Beach.  It originally opened in 1954 then it was broke down palace for a while until 2008 when it underwent a massive renovation and it was brought back to its former glory.  It’s a great place to have a bevi before dinner in the lounge area.

No passport needed!  Be transported to Asia at Hakkasan.  The romantic dark panel decor will make you feel as if are in Hong Kong.  The dumplings will melt in your mouth.

Seaspice Restaurant

For some daytime mischief book a table at Sea Salt, 3:00 pm.  The music is insanely good with a jet-setting crowd for eye sensory overload

I can go one for days with additional spots, but I will save it for winter.  Stay tuned!
