This week Google unveiled the latest “extra fresh” Pixel Buds!
The earbuds are capable of translating 40 different languages directly into your earholes, super cool for the world traveler.
Google Pixel Buds are wireless headphones — or, more accurately, they’re neck buds, as The Verge notes. They don’t have a wire connecting them to the device you’re using them with, but they do have a cord that connects the two buds together; you can, therefore, drape them around your neck when you’re not wearing them. They use Bluetooth technology to pair with individual devices — but they’re capable of much more than just listening to music. If your device meets the requirements, you can also use them to access both Google Assistant and Google Translate.
The controls are built into a touchpad on the right earbud. You can control the volume by swiping either forwards or backward, and either play or pause your music by tapping; or, to use Google Assistant, just touch and hold and say what you want to do.
Google product manager Justin Payne says “It’s an incredible application of Google Translate powered by machine learning that’s like having a personal translator by your side.” 40 languages are currently supported, including French, German, Spanish, Japanese Filipino, and even Esperanto.

Yes! Another trick is using a Japanese translation app on your phone. The Google translation on the phone is not that great. People looked at me funny when I showed them the translated version of my wording in English. Good luck! 🤗
